Kolegium Europejskie at the International Conference in Finland within the Erasmus+ Program

At Kolegium Europejskie, our international English school in Cracow, Poland, we believe that learning goes beyond the classroom. Modern education should combine theory with practice, and experiences gained outside the classroom are crucial for the development of both students and teachers. That’s why we constantly invest in the development of our teaching staff and seek inspiration from the best international educational practices.

As part of the Erasmus+ program, our management team and teachers had a unique opportunity to participate in the Lapland International Forum for Education (LIFE2025) in Rovaniemi, Finland. This year’s edition of the prestigious conference was held under the theme “Cultivating Happiness”, focusing on children’s well-being, learning through play, and the importance of contact with nature in the educational process.

Finland as a Model of Innovative Education

For years, Finland has been at the top of global educational rankings. The Finnish education system stands out for its student-centered approach, flexible curricula, and emphasis on developing social competencies. LIFE2025 aimed to explore these methods and their potential implementation in other European countries.

During the conference, our delegation had the opportunity to participate in numerous workshops and lectures on:

– Child-Centered Approaches – fostering independence and resilience in students,
– Positive Pedagogy – based on hope, collaboration, and strengthening children’s strengths,
– Active Participation in the Learning Process – increasing engagement through practical experiences,
– Self-Management Skills – building responsibility and self-discipline in a supportive environment,
– The Importance of Human Relationships in Education – teacher-student cooperation for better development.

New Inspirations for Our School in Cracow

Participation in LIFE2025 was an incredibly valuable experience that will enrich our teaching practices. Ms. Agnieszka Sańka, Ms. Marta Kontny, Mr. Sławomir Chmiel, and Mr. Grzegorz Całko returned to the school with new ideas and full of inspiration. In the coming months, we plan to implement selected methods that will contribute to creating an even more engaging and friendly environment for our students.

Education in Finland shows how important the balance between learning and student well-being is. Supporting children in their emotional and social development, using active teaching methods, and fostering a collaborative atmosphere are aspects we will strengthen in our school as well.

Erasmus+ – A Key to Modern Education

For years, our school has been involved in Erasmus+ projects, allowing teachers to gain experience in the best European educational centers. Thanks to initiatives such as participation in LIFE2025, our school community is developing in the spirit of modern education, open to innovation and diversity.
