Kraków Onam 2025 x Kolegium Europejskie!

On September 1st, we had the honor of participating in an extraordinary event – Kraków Onam 2025!

What is Onam? 🎉
Onam is the most important festival in the Indian state of Kerala. It is celebrated every year with great joy and enthusiasm – a time full of dance, music, traditional dishes, and stunning floral decorations that give the event its unique, colorful character. The festival symbolizes equality, unity, and community: values that we also place at the heart of our mission at Kolegium Europejskie.

Why was this event important to us?
As an international school in Kraków, which includes an international high school offering the IB Diploma and a primary school with the Cambridge program, we create a community where students and teachers from all corners of the world meet every day🌍 That is why celebrating events like Onam is more than just participating in a festival! It is a wonderful opportunity to learn, foster mutual respect, and appreciate the diversity around us.

We believe that experiencing traditions from different cultures together not only enriches our school community but also prepares our students for life in a world where intercultural collaboration, empathy, and openness are crucial. Onam showed us how beautiful universal values such as: joy, community, and gratitude, can be when expressed through the traditions of various nations.

Students from different continents bring their experiences, languages, and traditions to our school. This makes each day a journey around the world, where we learn not only from books… but also from each other!

The Onam celebrations were a perfect example of this. We witnessed incredible energy, stunning colors, and immense joy. The event reminded us that school is not only a place of learning but also a space for building bridges between cultures and creating a community based on mutual respect and understanding.
