This year has been truly a high-wire act for the Wielka Improwizacja Theatre.
Although we’ve been active for six years, we can’t recall a time as intense and creatively rich – so full of challenges and successes. We expanded our repertoire, took part in various artistic initiatives, honed our skills in the art of the spoken word, and developed both our acting and technical abilities (dance, set design, lighting, costumes, event promotion).
Thanks to countless daily rehearsals (!), our group:
● staged three performances: – Reminiscencje (an original play with dreamlike motifs – a nostalgic time machine transporting a lost protagonist to pivotal moments), – Where’s the Patron? (a humorous play based on quotes from our beloved teachers), – Mona Lisa Smile (a performance inspired by the film of the same title – a story about the life dilemmas of a group of girls and an unconventional teacher);
● competed in three recitation contests (Women’s Poetry, A. Bursa Poetry Tournament, 70th National Recitation Competition); ● …and even an oratory contest (Public Speaking Contest); ● took part in the 45th Youth Art Festival; ● joined acting workshops (at the AMA Film Academy); ● …and film operating workshops (at the Wojciech Jerzy Has Krakow Film School).
We can proudly say we have represented our school with dignity on Krakow’s artistic stage. We also met inspiring peers and mentors who generously shared their knowledge and experience.
Thanks to these initiatives, we’ve set sail on open waters – and once again discovered that: ● long breaks can be spent creatively :), ● literature is alive, ● hard work and good fun bring results, ● words matter, ● we love our audience, the adrenaline, and artistic events, ● art enables us to grow holistically.
