ANOTHER CULTURES DAY AT KOLEGIUM EUROPEJSKIE!✨

What does the world look like when it comes together in one place? Once again, we had the opportunity to find out!

Cultures Day at Kolegium Europejskie was a true celebration of diversity, dialogue, and human connection. Our students had the chance not only to learn about different cultures but, above all, to experience them with all their senses-through conversations, music, art, shared activities, and flavours from almost every corner of the world🌍

The event began with presentations from participants of Erasmus+ mobility projects in Sweden and France. Students shared their experiences of living with host families, attending schools abroad, building new friendships, and developing an openness to different cultures that will stay with them for years to come. Their stories showed that Erasmus+ is much more than a journey—it is an opportunity to meet people and gain experiences that change the way we see the world.

We then visited the Multicultural Centre in Kraków, located on Zabłocie Street, where, thanks to an inspiring meeting with Paulina Pilipiuk, we gained a deeper understanding of what it means to build a society based on diversity, inclusion, and mutual respect.

The programme also included an engaging lecture on multiculturalism delivered by students from the Jagiellonian University, as well as intercultural and artistic workshops that encouraged participants to explore the world from new and different perspectives.

The artistic performances created truly unforgettable moments. The stage came alive with live music, instrumental concerts, vocal performances, and spectacular Indian dances. Every performance reminded us that music and art are universal languages that connect people regardless of their nationality, culture, or background.

One of the highlights of the day was the international food fair prepared by our students. Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, India, Israel, Peru, Luxembourg, Italy, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Australia, Ireland, Japan, Germany, Spain, France, and many other countries were represented at one shared table. Traditional dishes, regional specialties, and delicious desserts demonstrated that food is one of the most powerful ways of bringing people together and celebrating cultural diversity.

Cultures Day was organised in cooperation with the African and Middle Eastern Students’ Research Association operating within the Institute of the Middle and Far East at the Jagiellonian University, as well as the Multicultural Centre in Kraków.

We would like to thank all our students, teachers, mentors, partners, and guests for helping to create such a unique and inspiring atmosphere. Once again, we were reminded that multiculturalism is far more than a concept found in textbooks—it is about people, stories, experiences, and relationships that build a community based on mutual respect, openness, and curiosity about the world.

Special thanks go to Ms. Jolanta Jurusik and Mr. Kamil Załęski for organising this wonderful event and making the day such a great success.

Although we come from different places, speak different languages, and cherish different traditions, it is our diversity that makes us stronger, richer, and more united as one community.
