Culture Day at Our International High School in Krakow

A Celebration of Openness, Respect, and Diversity

On Friday, June 6th, our International Baccalaureate (IB) high school in Krakow hosted its annual Culture Day – one of the most important and anticipated events of the school year. It’s a unique occasion when our entire community – students, teachers, guests, and parents – come together to celebrate national, linguistic, and cultural diversity.

Our international school is a place where young people from all over the world meet and learn together. The daily presence of many cultures in one space is not only a great value but also a remarkable opportunity for intellectual, emotional, and social growth.

A Rich and Inspiring Program

This year’s Culture Day offered a wide variety of exciting and meaningful activities. Among our special guests was the African-Middle Eastern Academic Circle, which led fascinating workshops about the traditions and history of the regions our students come from.

Artistic performances were a major highlight of the day. We enjoyed a vibrant and colorful display of Indian dance filled with energy and emotion. Students and guests also had the chance to witness a traditional Moroccan tea ceremony, which concluded with a shared tasting experience.

Students Take Center Stage

Our students played a key role in the event. One student recited a poem in Ukrainian, another sang a song in English by the British artist Adele, and a pre-IB student performed the U.S. national anthem on the violin. A group of high school students returned to the stage with another Indian dance performance, impressing the audience with their passion and professionalism.

An International Feast of Flavors

The grand finale of the day was a tasting session of dishes from around the world. The tables were filled with delicious foods and desserts from Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Students and teachers had the chance to sample meals that are often part of their own families’ heritage and culture. Everything was absolutely delicious!

Why It Matters

Celebrating diversity together helps build a community based on mutual respect, empathy, and openness – values that are at the heart of the IB philosophy. Culture Day is not only educational, but truly inspirational: it reminds us that our differences are a source of strength, not a barrier.

A Big Thank You

We would like to thank all students, teachers, the school leadership, the Board, and our guests for their involvement and for making this such a meaningful and beautiful event. Special thanks go to Mr. Kamil Załęski and Ms. Jolanta Jurusikfor their coordination and incredible work.
